ACRE, BRAZIL – The first indigenous person in Brazil to receive the COVID-19 vaccine died just 9 days after the injection. Fernando Katukina, a tribal chief, was inoculated on January 19th during an event to promote COVID-19 vaccine acceptance among indigenous people. He died on February 1st from a sudden cardiac arrest.
