CAIRNS, QUEENSLAND – An investigation has been opened into the sudden death of a primary school teacher. Sara McCarthy, an avid runner, collapsed from a stroke after returning from a 10km jog on August 4th. The 45-year-old had received her second Pfizer shot just a week before on July 28th. The healthy mother with no underlying health issues was found unconscious on a suburban footpath and was flown to Gold Coast hospital where she had unsuccessful emergency surgery to remove blood clots. She died on Friday, August 13th.
