There is NO perfect 72 hour bag. Why? Because the bag would have to meet AT LEAST the following criteria:
- Inexpensive
- Lightweight
- Small
- Handle natural or man made emergencies in four seasons
- Allow for young children, the elderly, guests, sick, or injured
- Contain three days worth of shelter, water, fire, security, tools, comfort items, medical items, & clothing
“Perfect” is not a reality. Fortunately, “great” is a reality.
You are going to have to make some decisions about what kind of 72 hour bag(s) you are going to have.
