Senators Demand NIH Disclose Patent Royalty Payments Made to Employee/Scientists & Leadership

Medical research becomes ever more relevant to the American public. Spurred on by COVID-19 accumulating spend in the American health system particularly involving pharmaceutical products, drives a growing momentum for transparency and clarity as to how and where taxpayer originated funds are going. Does the American taxpayer have a right to know the extent to which government doctors and scientists employed in agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have a financial interest in the drugs and products they support? Is there a connection between the billions of dollars the NIH allocates in grants and royalty payments to specific agency-employed doctors and scientists? Finally, do American taxpayers deserve more transparency as to the distribution of hundreds of millions of dollars in royalty payments received by the NIH and whether its leadership, already some of the top paid in the federal bureaucracy, enjoy some hidden income benefit? Four U.S. Republican Senators apparently believe so, and consequently, recently requested patent royalty information from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Specifically, Ron Johnson (R-WI), Rand Paul (R-KY), Rick Scott (R-FL) and Josh Hawley (R-MO), all members of the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, wrote a letter to the NIH’s Acting Director Lawrence Tabak, pursuant to 5 U.S.C. section 2954, seeking a disclosure of royalty payments made by third-party providers to NIH employees and other details concerning royalty payments to NIH employees. The Republican Senators are clearly probing for any possible conflicts of interests given the billions of dollars of research grants allocated by the NIH ongoing and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Federal employees, such as scientists that may also happen to be investors at the NIH, may be eligible for royalty payments based on section 401.10 of the Patent and Trademark Law Amendments (Bayh-Dole) Act. If a federal employee, say an immunologist employed at the NIH is listed as an “investor or co-inventor” on a product patent, this makes them potentially eligible for payment.

NIH’s involvement in the contribution of commercialized drugs is no trivial matter. In fact, according to the Senators’ letter to the NIH’s Acting Director, in a 2020 Government Accountability Office study “93 NIH patents contributed to 34 FDA-approved prescription drugs, generating roughly $2 billion in royalty payments to the agency [NIH] between 1991 and 2019.” The Senators declared in the letter that in 2004, “NIH scientists earned approximately $8.9 million in royalties for drugs and innovations they discovered while working for the government.”

No NIH Employee Royalty Disclosures Despite Policy

While a 2005 NIH policy promulgated a transparency requirement, necessitating the disclosure of such royalty payment information, no disclosures have ever occurred.

Importantly, a government transparency firm called Open the Books submitted a freedom of information act (FOIA) to identify this royalty information between 2009 and 2020. In response, the NIH disclosed only the names of employees receiving payments and the number of payments between 2009 and 2014. However, the NIH redacted critical information such as the following:

• The amounts of individual payments

• The innovation in question

• The names of third-party payers

The Senators noted to the Acting Director that these FOIA redactions actually conflict with a 2005 statement by an NIH spokesman that an entity “would have to make a request via the Freedom of Information Act to find out royalty payments to individual researchers.”

Citing their authority based on their membership in the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs the Senators list the information they seek including:

1. Itemized accounting of which employees have been paid and how much by third parties from January 1, 2009, to December 31, 2021.

2. Accounting of payments from pharmaceutical companies to NIH employees between January 1, 2018, and March 1, 2022.

3. Aggregate amount of money NIH and its employees have received between January 1, 2020, and March 1, 2022, in association with therapeutics, vaccines, testing, and the like.

4. Declaration that per conflict of interest (18 USC section 208(a)), that all NIH employees that have received payments from pharmaceutical companies have either signed waivers or have proper exemptions.

5. A full accounting for NIH royalty proceeds from January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2021.

The Senators conclude that they expect this request to be honored with acceptable response by June 17, 2022.

(Natural News) The illustrious Steve Kirsch just conducted another survey that suggests Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines” are at least 300 times deadlier than all other FDA-approved vaccines, for which there are now more than 70, combined over the past 32 years.

The simple poll asked readers and followers to respond to the statement, “Which choice has killed more people that you know,” followed by these three options:

1) COVID vaccine
2) All other vaccines combined in the last 32 years
3) Nobody I know has ever died from a vaccine

Seventy-six percent of respondents chose the first option followed by 22 percent for the third option. Only three percent of respondents indicated that they know more people who died from vaccines other than the covid shots.

“If you have a Gab or Twitter account, please replicate my poll for your followers and then enter the URL of your poll into this form so I can publish the results,” Kirsch writes, referring to this poll.

“I’ll make a video that will be very compelling with all the polls,” he added.

Do you know of someone who became injured or died from covid injections?

Kirsch’s friends at VaccineTruth2 on Twitter launched the same poll and the results were even more stark. More than 87 percent of respondents said covid shots have killed more people they know than all other jabs combined.

“In other words, the people who responded to these public polls are more than 10 times more likely to observe that the COVID vaccines have killed more people than ALL OTHER VACCINES COMBINED OVER THE PAST 32 YEARS,” Kirsch stressed.

“How are they going to explain that?’

Keep in mind that many of Kirsch’s followers are pro-vaccine fanatics who would gladly pick option three even if they knew someone who died under suspicious circumstances. Despite this bias, an overwhelming percentage of respondents still said covid shots are the deadliest thing they know of right now.

Kirsch has been really busy in recent days putting together surveys about Chinese Virus injections to try to get to the bottom of how people are responding to them. Just the other day, he presented 10 other surveys of greater depth than this latest one, all of which support his hypotheses.

You might call this open-source peer review in that Kirsch is conducting on-the-ground science into a matter that remains mostly untouched by the major media and of course the government, which continues to push the jabs as “safe and effective.”

“Some of you wonder why the ratio isn’t more lopsided since if the COVID vaccines are so deadly, everyone should recognize them as being more deadly and everyone would vote for choice #1,” Kirsch writes.

“But deaths are relatively rare, so most people will only see one death. If the COVID vaccines are killing people at a rate 311 X more than all vaccines combined per year, then we’d expect to see the numbers above if everyone just sees one death.”

Escalation: Iran seizing oil tankers in vital strategic waterway after US confiscates Iranian oil sailing under Russian flag Thursday, June 02, 2022 by: JD Heyes

(Natural News) If Joe Biden’s anti-fossil fuel policies weren’t enough to spike gasoline and diesel fuel prices in the United States three and four times higher than they were when Donald Trump had to leave office following a stolen election, another major oil producer and exporter — Iran — is now adding to inflationary pressures.

Elite Iranian commandos with the country’s navy have begun boarding Greek tankers and seizing their cargos, along with the crews, leading to stern warnings from other European countries and the weak Biden regime.

The Greek government, in particular, is having a difficult time with its oil tankers.

The Athens government issued an alert earlier this week warning all Greek vessels that are currently sailing in Persian Gulf waters to make adaptations and be on the lookout for heightened threats against them after the seizure of two Greek oil tankers by the Iranian military. According to maritime tanker monitors, at least a dozen Greek oil tankers are currently navigating waters near Iran.

The alert instructed those vessels to immediately “adapt to the unacceptable situation and reality created by the Iranian government’s tactic,” said Ioannis Oikonomou, a government spokesman, at a press briefing in Athens on Monday, per Bloomberg News.

Over the weekend, the Tasnim news agency threatened that 17 additional tankers flying under the Greek flag in the Persian Gulf also risked being seized by the Islamic Republic in what is being seen as further retaliation for the U.S. confiscating Iranian oil in the Mediterranean after a tanker carrying Iranian crude was seized off the coast of Greece.

“The vessels were seized a day after Athens assisted the United States in seizing an Iranian oil tanker over alleged sanctions violations,” RFERL reported.

Jason Ditz of Antiwar.com added:

Fresh off of the US targeting a series of companies involved in an Iran-linked oil smuggling network, the US has now seized an oil tanker near Greece, taking the Iranian oil within to be sent to the US.

The oil was on a Russian-operated ship, which had been singled out for US targeting in February. It was then called the Pegas. The company renamed the ship the Lana and was Russian flagged. Greece had impounded the Pegas and its Russian crew last month over the invasion of Ukraine, but ultimately released it.

Also, Politico noted:

Nour News, a website close to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, had warned earlier on Friday that Tehran planned to take “punitive action” over Greece assisting the U.S.

The reports continued to note that Iran engaged in an apparent act of “revenge” last week, with Greece’s foreign ministry confirming that the tanker, Delta Poseidon, sailing under the Greek flag, was boarded by Iranian special forces commandos via helicopter. Later, the personnel were identified as being members of the Iranian Republican Guard Corps, or IRCG. The foreign ministry called the incident an act of “piracy” as well as a “violent taking over of two Greek-flagged ships.” In that first boarding, at least two Greek citizens were detained by the Iranians.

“A similar incident was reported on another Greek-flagged ship, carrying seven Greek citizens, off the Iranian coast,” said the ministry in describing the boarding of a second ship, identified as Prudent Warrior, which is operated by the Greek company Polembros Shipping.

France is among a group of leading Western nations that are publicly condemning the Iranian moves, though they are not acknowledging the initial U.S. seizure of Iranian oil, to begin with.

“We call on Iran to immediately release the crew and ships,” said an announcement from the French government, while going on to warn that Tehran must end all maritime interference in international waters near its coastline.

It sounds as if Iran has called Joe Biden’s bluff.

Pfizer’s covid injections are killing people, including babies, and the FDA has known the entire time Thursday, June 02, 2022 by: Ethan Huff

(Natural News) Since at least December of 2020, drug giant Pfizer has known that its Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccine” is a death sentence for many, which means that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also known this entire time.

For more than two years, both Pfizer and the FDA knew that the former’s covid jabs “waned in efficacy” over time, a phenomenon known as “vaccine failure.” They also knew that one of the “side effects” of Pfizer’s covid injection, incredibly, is covid itself.

By May of 2021, Pfizer and the FDA were aware of 35 incidents of minor heart damage occurring within one week after injection. Even so, the FDA chose to emergency use authorize (EUA) the jab for young teenagers about a month later.

It took the United States government another two months to finally fess up about the heart harms caused by Pfizer injections, this after thousands of teens had already taken the jab based on the agency’s EUA.

“Pfizer (and thus the FDA; many of the documents say ‘FDA: CONFIDENTIAL’ at the lower boundary) knew that, contrary to what the highly paid spokesmodels and bought-off physicians were assuring people, the MRNA, spike protein and lipid nanoparticles did not stay in the injection site in the deltoid, but rather went, within 48 hours, into the bloodstream, from there to lodge in the liver, spleen, adrenals, lymph nodes, and, if you are a woman, in the ovaries,” reports Naomi Wolf on her Substack.

“Pfizer (and thus the FDA) knew that the Moderna vaccine had 100 mcg of MRNA, lipid nanoparticles and spike protein, which was more than three times the 30 mcg of the adult Pfizer dose; the company’s internal documents show a higher rate of adverse events with the 100 mcg dose, so they stopped experimenting with that amount internally due to its ‘reactogenicity’ – Pfizer’s words – but no one told all of the millions of Americans who all got the first and second 100 mcg Moderna dose, and the boosters.”

At every turn, Pfizer deceived the government and the public about the “safety” and “effectiveness” of its covid injections

Pfizer blatantly lied about the number of participants who died in its final clinical trial, we also know. The company observed many more fatalities than it reported to the FDA, and has still not been punished for this crime.

The company further recruited more female trial participants as opposed to male trial participants because men, it turns out, are far more prone to suffering cardiac damage from Pfizer’s Fauci Flu injections. At least 75 percent of test subjects, in fact, were female, and records of many of them mysteriously disappeared because even they were harmed by the shots.

“In the internal trials,” Wolf writes, “there were over 42,000 adverse events and more than 1200 people died. Four of the people who died, died on the day they were injected.”

Internal records at Pfizer told the truth, but almost none of this truth was publicly reported. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website, for instance, contains completely different data that makes the shots appear safer and more effective than they actually are.

There is also plenty of critical information missing about adverse events, which include joint pain, muscle pain (myalgia), neurological damage in the form of Guillain-Barré syndrome and Bell’s Palsy, blood clotting, stroke, and so much more.

Pfizer even likened “exposure” to the jab as “sexual contact,” which is disturbing all on its own.

“Of course, people who have tried to raise any of these issues have been deplatformed, scolded by the President, called insane, and roundly punished,” Wolf notes.

More than 70 kids rescued from trafficking ring in multi-state operation Wednesday, June 01, 2022 by: Ramon Tomey

(Natural News) Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies rescued more than 70 children from a human trafficking ring. The three-week operation dubbed Operation Lost Souls was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) El Paso and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), alongside other federal, state and local agencies.

Operation Lost Souls ran from the end of April 2022 until the middle of May – centering on the El Paso, Midland, Ector and Tom Green counties. The missing children and teenagers, many of whom were runaways, were between the ages of 10 and 17. The 70 children were victims of sex trafficking and physical and sexual abuse.

While most of the children were recovered in west Texas, a few were recovered from the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the state’s eastern portion. Some were recovered from the state of Colorado, and as far down as the city of Ciudad Juarez in Mexico’s Chihuahua state. The agencies involved in Operation Lost Souls have provided services and counseling to the recovered children and their families. HSI did not release further information about the 70 children due to the nature of the investigation.

The results of Operation Lost Souls were announced during a May 25 news conference, which coincided with the National Missing Children’s Day.

HSI El Paso Deputy Special Agency in Charge Taekuk Cho said: “Operation Lost Souls exemplifies HSI’s commitment to protecting the public from crimes of victimization. In this case, we are looking out for our children – our community’s most precious resource. HSI is committed to continue working with our law enforcement partners to locate, recover and help missing children heal, while ensuring that perpetrators are held responsible for these heinous crimes and brought to justice.”

DPS Major Matthew Mull said: “At the DPS, teamwork is one of our core values. We are grateful for all of our law enforcement partners who participated in this operation and who work around the clock every day to protect our communities, including our youth.”

Operation’s success comes after kidnapping in Dallas

The success of Operation Lost Souls followed an incident where a 15-year-old girl was kidnapped during a basketball game in Dallas. Law enforcement managed to rescue the girl 10 days after she disappeared during an April 8 game at the American Airlines Center. The girl went to use the bathroom, but did not return to her seat. She was later seen leaving the arena with an unknown man.

The girl’s concerned father reached out to the Dallas Police Department for help but was simply told to go home. According to the state’s family code, missing teenagers are considered runaways unless there is evidence of a kidnapping. “My daughter went missing in the city of Dallas, this is Dallas case, but they refused to open a case for her,” said the father.

Inaction from the side of law enforcement led to the missing girl’s family approaching the Texas Counter-Trafficking Initiative for help. The group subsequently tracked down her nude pictures on a prostitution website and alerted the Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD).

The girl was then located by OCPD officers on April 18 at an Extended Stay America hotel in Oklahoma City – 200 miles away from where she was abducted. She was rescued on the same day while in the company of a convicted sex offender. Later, it was found that the room where the girl was found had been rented using another person’s ID card. (Related: Child trafficking in America is REAL, and this teen was kidnapped from a basketball game crowd and sex trafficked for 11 days before being rescued.)

Authorities subsequently arrested eight individuals in connection with the crime.

“We are thankful for the work of the OCPD and the recovery of our daughter. My heart breaks for the unimaginable things my daughter had to endure [while] she was taken, and I am so glad she is safe as we work toward her recovery,” the girl’s mother said in a May 5 statement.

Zeke Fortenberry, lawyer for the missing girl’s family, rebuked the “systems and organizations involved in the case” for “failing the victim” in a statement. He added that her life “will forever be changed” as a result of the harrowing events.

“She should never have had contact with the man at the Mavericks game. The Extended Stay America hotel in Oklahoma City puts profits ahead of people by turning a blind eye to the sexual exploitation occurring right before their eyes. The Dallas Police should have worked quickly to investigate leads and locate the teenager before she was trafficked to Oklahoma.”

Lemon balm

The herb also has potent medicinal qualities and it contains plant compounds that benefit the body through antiviral activity. According to 2016 findings published in the journal Virusdisease, these compounds may be effective against the influenza A virus.

MNV is extremely contagious and a main cause of stomach flu.

In a 2011 study published in the Brazilian Journal of Microbiology, scientists discovered that oregano oil and carvacrol had antiviral activity when used against the HSV-1, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and rotavirus.

Sage

Sage is a part of the mint family and the herb is often used in traditional medicine to treat viral infections.

Based on 2008 findings published in the journal Springer Nature’s Retrovirology, aqueous extracts from sage, lemon balm and peppermint present significant anti-HIV-1 activity by raising the virion density. “Palisades was located in the heart of the Midwest, immediately adjacent to the area served by the Mid-continent Independent System Operator (MISO), the region that NERC identified as being particularly short on juice,” writes Robert Bryce, host of the Power Hungry Podcast and executive producer of the documentary “Juice: How Electricity Explains the World.”

“NERC said the MISO region has 3,200 megawatts less generation capacity this summer than it did in 2021. Despite this loss of generation capacity, NERC expects demand in the region to increase by about 1.7 percent this summer and warned that ‘extreme temperatures, higher generation outages, or low wind conditions’ will mean that MISO will have a ‘higher risk’ of ‘load-shedding to maintain system reliability’ – the industry’s preferred term for rolling blackouts.”

Gretchen Whitmer tried to prevent Palisades from closing

Meredith Angwin, author of the 2020 book “Shorting the Grid,” told Bryce that she is shocked at how many people are pretending as though the energy crisis in this country is not a problem. The Midwest is headed towards energy ruin very soon and Palisades is now no longer operational.

“It doesn’t make any sense,” Angwin said.

The truly amazing thing is that Palisades qualified as a “green” energy plant because it produces zero carbon. There was no reason, even using the climate change narrative, to shut it down, in other words.

According to Tim Cavanaugh from the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, Palisades was producing about 7 terawatt-hours of energy every year. This is more than the amount of energy generated by all of the wind turbines currently operating across the state of Michigan.

“It’s a key comparison because the backlash against the wind industry has been fierce in Michigan,” Bryce notes. “Among the latest examples, last month the town board in Fulton Township voted unanimously to reject a project proposed by Chicago-based Invenergy that would put several dozen wind turbines in and around the township.”

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, along with Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, had attempted to prevent the closure of Palisades. On April 20, Whitmer stated publicly that “keeping Palisades open is a top priority,” promising to tap some of the $6 billion available at the Department of Energy’s Civil Nuclear Credit Program to make that happen.

Stopping the closure of Palisades, Whitmer wrote in a letter to the DoE, will “allow us to shore up Michigan’s energy supply to prevent price spikes on working families and small businesses.” Unfortunately, these efforts were a failure.

Palisades was originally scheduled to close on May 31 but ended up closing 11 days early because of a “mechanical problem.” Since that time, Whitmer has been silent on the issue, as has the Biden regime, which supposedly supported the bipartisan infrastructure bill that was supposed to help plants like Palisades remain open.

“There’s no doubt that the plant’s closure will result in more greenhouse gas emissions,” Bryce says. “When nuclear plants close in the United States, they are replaced by gas-fired generation.”
