Major Supermarkets to ban paying with Cash or Card and only accept payments via Digital ID & Facial Recognition Technology BY THE EXPOSÉ

All major supermarkets will very soon no longer accept cash or card payments, and instead, force customers to use their face or fingerprints to pay for essential items, in what is another huge leap toward a dystopian cashless society.

Mastercard recently launched a program for retailers to offer biometric payment methods, like facial recognition and fingerprint scanning. At the checkout, users will be forced to authenticate their payment by showing their face or the palm of their hand instead of being allowed to pay by card or with cash.

The program has already gone live in five St Marche grocery stores in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with more trials also planned for Asia and the Middle East. Mastercard says it plans to roll it out globally later this year.

The payments company wants to roll the programme out worldwide for small and large retailers. Ajay Bhalla, the president of cyber and intelligence at Mastercard, said: “The way we pay needs to keep pace with the way we live, work and do business, offering choice to consumers with the highest levels of security.

“Our goal with this new programme is to make shopping a great experience for consumers and merchants alike, providing the best of both security and convenience.

“All the research that we’ve done has told us that consumers love biometrics”.

Did Mastercard only conduct its market research in China? It certainly sounds like it.

The current spin being used to justify using the biometric payment system and forcing the public to live in a dystopian cashless society is that it will “lead to shorter queues, be more hygienic than tapping in a pin, and be less vulnerable to fraud”.

A spokesman for Mastercard said: “No more fumbling for your phone or hunting for your wallet when you have your hands full – the next generation of in-person payments will only need a quick smile or wave of your hand. The trusted technology that uses your face or fingerprint to unlock your phone can now be used to help consumers speed through the checkout. With Mastercard’s new Biometric Checkout Programme, all you will need is yourself.”

Mastercard cited a study that claims 74% of the global population has a “positive attitude” towards biometrics. That number is highly questionable, but are the 74% aware of the dangers of implementing this kind of technology?

All the systems of Digital ID and data-gathering are vulnerable to security breaches. The Equifax breach, for example, compromised an astonishing 145.5 million Social Security numbers. Because of the potential for cyber breaches, hacks in the future could even larger and put entire systems at risk.

The rise of artificial intelligence also means that, as data from Digital ID systems is gathered, algorithms are being built that may have a major impact on people. These systems, though, like the data itself, are neither transparent in operation nor clear even as to who or what is building them, and for what purposes.

It may be, in the future, that people will find they no longer have consumer options such as low-cost bank loans due to the decisions of algorithms whose workings are not transparent to the public.

The only way to stop the implementation of this Draconian system is to always pay with cash whilst the use of this new technology remains optional.

More Evidence for Early Treatment Malfeasance and collusion by the WHO, Governments, TNI and old media Robert W Malone MD, MS

Trial Site News knocked it out of the park with their May 22, 2022 article entitled: “Opinion: What have We Learned about Early Treatment During the COVID-19 Pandemic?”

I strongly encourage people to read the full article, but the quoted sections of the article below highlight key points. For the many of articles published by Trial Site News, one needs to register with the organization for viewing. But this is a simple step, and Trial Site really has been a non-biased truth teller for both this pandemic, medicine and for clinical research in general.

The article starts with

Early calls for use of repurposed drugs that appeared to work—at least according to preliminary studies and hundreds to thousands of doctors on the front lines of the pandemic—were mostly ignored by organized medicine. This was primarily because even in pandemic times, organized medicine will not deviate from the existing stringent approaches and protocols to developing medical evidence. They will demonstrate flexibility with well-capitalized, staffed entities with track records, such as key players in the pharmaceutical industry.

Yet during a pandemic, an urgency called for unorthodox approaches, and according to many front-line physicians, that’s their job in the first place—find ways to treat patients that, in the judgment of the physician—work.  It is truly unfortunate that a parallel trajectory couldn’t be employed during the pandemic---that is, in parallel organized, methodical evidence inquiries while also supporting bottom-up physician-led efforts to find repurposed therapies that make a difference.

It goes on:

(Physicians) Working to treat thousands of patients around the country, organized medicine launched a vicious attack against physicians simply working to find safe treatments in the real world. Many doctors have lost their well-paid jobs for taking a stand. While hit squads attack them for sacrificing their stable employment for politicized media attention, with a select few at the top of the list-making up for lost income on Substack. But much of the public is starting to see through this unfortunate agenda—vilifying doctors that overwhelmingly sought to help patients before there were any treatments.

While health authorities and organized medicine have opted to ignore the positive ivermectin (and other) studies – out of 82 total ivermectin studies, most of them have some positive results—the establishment rather focuses on a few key studies that failed to show efficacious results such as the TOGETHER study. IN this latter case, critics have emerged highlighting the problems associated with this study. Some have even declared fraudulent intentTrialSite does suspect the study was underdosed, as compared to regimen used in various countries, including in India.Much of the original awareness of these alternative approaches originated mostly in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs), and organized medicine in the “First World” frowned at the use of such data to make medical decisions. A sense that a pious medical elite hierarchy exists became apparent to the common folk.

Even a solid investigation in America--the ICON study conducted at Broward County Health early on during the pandemic that demonstrated ivermectin reduced the COVID-19 mortality rate was mostly shunned even though reported in peer-reviewed journal Chest. Because it was a case series and not a sufficiently powered randomized controlled trial, the results wouldn’t matter—unless, of course, you were one of the patients saved thanks to the study led by the husband-wife team of Drs. Jean-Jacques Rajter and Juliana Cepelowicz and team at Broward County Health.

There was also the pharmacist at Adventist health that developed a protocol that was demonstrating success. That program was shut down as, among other things, a contract with Pfizer precluded such hearsay.

One of the key takeaways of the article is the apparent malfeasance of the World Health Organization, governments, Trusted News Initiative (TNI) and old media to silence the successes of Ivermectin in countries like India.

But as stated above, randomized clinical trials that have been underpowered, started late within the disease time course (after viral load is gone already largely cleared- important for an anti-viral drug for instance) and/or under dosed have been rampant. Normally, most drug studies have pre-clinical animal studies and dose escalation studies that significantly address these issues prior to clinical trial start date. But time and again, these types of studies have not been concluded prior to the start of the trial. Instead, intuition and opinion seems to be driving clinical trial study design. There is no “gold standard” in that. Garbage in, garbage out.

How does a randomized clinical trial for an anti-viral set an enrollment initiation date for initial administration of the anti-viral AFTER the known date of viral elimination by the body? Yet, time and again during this pandemic, this is what has happened in these “gold standard” randomized clinical trials!

Studies that are underpowered, started late within the disease time course and/or under dosed seem par for the course from organizations and institutions that know better. Many note that these studies seem “designed to fail.” This is a pretty strong accusation, and yet there does not seem to be any other explanation for some of these clinical trial designs.

Inquiring minds want to know? What Institutional Review Board (IRB) - that determines that a study is appropriated designed, dosed and powered are approving these clinical trials? There needs to be some accountability.

The article goes on:

Groups of physicians around the world have persisted that early treatment with already approved off-label therapies under investigation (e.g., Ivermectin, Fluvoxamine, Famotidine, or Hydroxychloroquine in combination treatments) would have saved many lives during the pandemic.

This presumption was based initially either on lab findings, previous research associated with other viruses, or localized real-world data at first and then case series, observational studies, and some initial randomized controlled studies.

Much of the original awareness of these alternative approaches originated mostly in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs), and organized medicine in the “First World” frowned at the use of such data to make medical decisions. A sense that a pious medical elite hierarchy exists became apparent to the common folk.

To this day, I personally am convinced that this suppression of the successes of treatment for COVID-19 had more to do with the promotion of the vaccines. Absurdly, early treatment and prophylactic treatments are seen as competition to vaccination.

One would hope if this was truly a catastrophic pandemic, the need for a gold standard randomized clinical trial before recommendation of a repurposed safe and effective drug would not be necessary. One would hope that safe, licensed drugs that showed some efficacy would be promoted and distributed by world health organizations and governments across the world.

But so much of this pandemic of the elderly and immune suppressed has been hyped. Fear porn is still rampant.

The article goes on:

Repurposed approved generic drugs were seemingly used effectively to combat the pandemic, but this is not acknowledged in the West.  For example, in select states in India, ivermectin was put to use by state and municipal public health agencies in population-wide treatment cohorts, such as in Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state.

While this mainstream media classifies the reporting of the Uttar Pradesh effort as misinformation, the opposite is actually true. This media platform—independent of any corporate advertising or contribution-- tracked these events closely and found the levels of censorship in the West to be, frankly, shocking. In fact, at this time, TrialSite had no revenue and continued to report on these matters based on its founder’s own finances.  For most of TrialSite’s short history (since late 2018), the media platform and fledgling social network centering on medical research was completely founder financed.

When other countries authorized ivermectin for emergency use for a period time—such as Slovakia—any attempt by TrialSite to share the public proof of that event was immediately censored on social media, including Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.

The question remains, why and who is behind the censorship? Who made the decisions that any information on treatment for COVID by countries such as India, Brazil and Mexico have been removed from social media and censored from old media.

Clearly, this has been a coordinated effort.

Sri Lanka on the brink of bankruptcy, faces food, fuel and medicine shortages

(Natural News) Many people in Sri Lanka are facing acute food, fuel and medicine shortages as it battles one of its worst economic crises since becoming an independent nation in 1948. The economy had been hit badly by the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as tourism – one of its crucial revenue generators – came to a standstill, as did other major sectors and foreign remittances.

Moreover, the government piled up a mountain of debt by borrowing heavily from foreign investors and countries. It also implemented badly-timed tax cuts and banned the import of chemical fertilizers to encourage organic farming, which led to farmers being unable to grow enough crops.

In a desperate move to combat acute fuel shortage that is expected to last for days, Sri Lankan authorities closed schools and asked public officials to not come to work. Thousands of people waited in queues at fuel stations across the country for days at a time. (Related: Violent fuel shortage protests have begun in Sri Lanka.)

The country is now almost without gasoline and is facing an acute shortage of other fuels as well. The Sri Lankan government, meanwhile, has been struggling to find money to pay for fuel, gas and other essential imports as it is now on the brink of bankruptcy.

Countrywide power cuts also come up to four hours a day as the government can no longer supply enough fuel to power generating stations.

The country has already suspended repayment of about $7 billion in foreign loans due this year out of the $25 billion that is to be repaid by 2026. The country’s total foreign debt already ballooned to $51 billion.

Protests, hostilities erupt amid crisis

Its economic problems have brought on a political crisis and the government is facing widespread protests and unrest. Protesters have blocked main roads to demand gas and fuel while television stations showed people in some areas fighting over limited stocks.

Protesters have already occupied the entrance to the president’s office for over a month, calling for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s resignation.

Months of antigovernment rallies have also led to the near dismantling of the once-powerful ruling family, leading to one of the president’s brothers resigning as prime minister and other relatives leaving their posts in the Cabinet. (Related: Food riots: Violent protests erupt in Sri Lanka and Iran as prices of everyday goods soar.)

Attacks by Rajapaksa’s supporters also sparked nationwide violence that left nine people dead and over 200 injured. Homes of lawmakers and their supporters were also burned down.

Sri Lanka crisis serves as warning for other countries

Global finance leaders are expected to prepare for multiple inflationary shocks as fears of a global economic downturn continue to hit the markets. International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said it is getting harder for central banks to bring down inflation without causing recessions.

There had also been mounting pressures on energy and food prices due to Russia’s war with Ukraine, as well as the supply chain disruption and cost pressures caused by China’s zer0-COVID policies.

“I think what we need to start getting more comfortable with is that it may not be the last shock,” Georgieva said, citing the omicron outbreak as proof that inflation will not be a “transitory” one-time shock.

A commentary also noted that Sri Lanka’s situation can happen on a global scale. If there is inflation that leads to a decrease in purchasing power by the contributor class through wage suppression, overseas jobs, automation and others, poverty and desperations could eventually turn to violence.

If other nations’ governments don’t take notice of what’s happening in Sri Lanka, they will eventually face the same problems in the next few months.

Guido Chamorro, the co-head of emerging-market hard-currency debt at Pictet Asset Management, which also holds Sri Lankan bonds, said: “The Sri Lanka default is an ominous sign for emerging markets. We expect the good times to stop. Slowing growth and more difficult funding conditions will increase default risk, particularly for frontier countries.”

New engineered pandemic: US buys millions of vaccines as monkeypox outbreak hits Europe and North America

(Natural News) A claimed infectious disease called monkeypox is spreading throughout Europe and North America, raising fears of another pandemic.

But of course it’s all an engineered scam, just like COVID.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the disease is caused by the monkeypox virus. Back in 2003, the United States experienced its first serious outbreak of monkeypox with 47 confirmed and probable cases reported in the Midwest.

The current monkeypox outbreak is still quite small. The first case associated with the current outbreak was identified on May 7 in the United Kingdom in a person who had recently traveled to Nigeria, where he or she is believed to have contracted the disease.

Since then, the outbreak has spread throughout parts of Western Europe and into North America. The U.K. has eight confirmed cases, Portugal has 20 and Spain has at least seven cases with another 22 probable infections being investigated. Italy has one confirmed case and Australia has two.

On Wednesday, May 18, the CDC, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, confirmed America’s first case of monkeypox in the current outbreak in a Massachusetts resident who tested positive after returning to the U.S. from a trip to Canada.

Canada itself has two confirmed cases and is investigating 17 suspected infections.

Monkeypox is considered to be a very rare disease. It causes fever, body aches, enlarged lymph nodes and painful, fluid-filled blisters – the pox – on the hands, feet and face. Cases that do not become severe usually resolve within two to four weeks.

Some versions of monkeypox are quite deadly and can kill up to 10 percent of the people it infects. But the version currently spreading around Western Europe and North America is a milder version with a fatality rate of less than one percent.

US orders millions of monkeypox vaccines after one confirmed case

Following confirmation of America’s first case of monkeypox during this outbreak, the federal government immediately ordered millions of doses of a vaccine against the monkeypox virus.

Bavarian Nordic, a Danish biotech company that makes such a vaccine, recently announced that it has received a $119 million order from the federal government, with the option for the White House to spend another $180 million for more vaccines if it wants.

Should this second option be exercised, it would work out to approximately 13 million doses of the monkeypox vaccine. (Related: US developing lethal, new genetically engineered viruses, including MOUSEPOX and MONKEYPOX… will these be used to demand MORE JABS in the name of “public safety?”)

The federal government’s order is for Bavarian Nordic to convert existing smallpox vaccines, which are supposedly already effective against monkeypox, into freeze-dried versions, which will have longer shelf lives. These converted vaccines will be manufactured in 2023 and 2024.

The U.S. is not the only country rushing to stock up on the vaccine. Bavarian Nordic said it has secured a contract with at least one country in Europe for vaccines.

“While the full circumstances around the current monkeypox cases in Europe remain to be elucidated, the speed at which these have evolved, combined with the potential for infections beyond the initial case going undetected, calls for a rapid and coordinated approach by the health authorities, and we are pleased to assist in this emergency situation,” said Bavarian Nordic president and CEO Paul Chaplin in a statement.

For its part, the CDC said it is monitoring six other people who may also have monkeypox. CDC epidemiologist Andrea McCollum said she isn’t particularly concerned about the outbreak becoming serious, but potential additional cases are likely.

Watch this clip from “The American Journal” of InfoWars as host Harrison Hill Smith asks why the U.S. just rushed to buy 13 million doses of the monkeypox vaccine despite only a handful of confirmed and probable cases.

Hundreds of Azovstal fighters in Ukraine surrender to Russian forces as Putin shakes up military leadership Saturday, May 21, 2022 by: JD Heyes

(Natural News) Russian forces continue to make advances into Ukraine in what President Vladimir Putin has dubbed a “special military operation” even as Kyiv’s forces are still pushing back hard in other parts of the country.

More than 1,200 fighters have surrendered at Mariupol’s Azovstal steelworks plant since the initial reports earlier this week that 300 had laid down their arms, with the wounded transferred to a Russian-controlled hospital, the Russian Ministry of Defense noted.

The MoD said that “694 Ukrainian fighters who had been holed up in Mariupol’s Azovstal steelworks have surrendered over the past 24 hours, according to a report by the country’s RIA news agency,” Al-Jazeera reported.

But, according to regional reports, the Ukrainian Azov battalion’s top commanders had not yet come out of the Azovstal plant. Pro-Russian separatist leader Denis Pushilin was quoted as saying about the top officers: They have not let [the plant].”

Those reports come in spite of Ukrainian military and defense officials saying on Tuesday that there had been an intentional decision made to end “combat operations” there. Ukrainians who laid down their weapons were taken prisoner and moved to Russian-controlled areas. The Kremlin touted the move as an obvious “surrender.”

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called it an “evacuation” operation.

“The operation to rescue the defenders of Mariupol was initiated by our military and our intelligence officers with the goal to return them home. The work continues and this work requires tact and time,” he said.

In keeping with their intent to push a certain pro-Ukraine narrative at all costs — in order to protect the $40 billion in new support paid for by American taxpayers — U.S. media outlets stuck up for the regimes in Kyiv and Washington, refusing to report the action as a “surrender.”

“Hundreds of Ukrainian fighters were taken by bus to Russian-controlled territory,” a New York Times report said, as an example. “Ukraine’s president said the combat mission in the city was over, capping some of the longest, fiercest resistance.”

Meanwhile, a separate report claims that Putin has replaced several top military commanders from the ranks following poor performances on the battlefield and unrealized objectives since the Feb. 24 invasion, according to The Foreign Desk, which cited intelligence officials from the United Kingdom:

The war in Ukraine has persisted for three months and western defense officials have repeatedly said Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ambitions in the former Soviet nation are flagging.

Moscow’s inability to make significant advances, capture Kharkiv and the sinking of the Russian warship the Moskva in the Black Sea – which was reported to be the notorious vessel involved in the Snake Island exchange during the early days of the war – has resulted in suspensions among leaders in Russia’s military.

The U.K. Ministry of Defense claimed “a culture of cover-ups and scapegoating” has plagued Russia’s military and security sectors.

“Many officials involved in the invasion of Ukraine will likely be increasingly distracted by efforts to avoid personal culpability for Russia’s operational setbacks,” the ministry added.

UK intelligence officials said that they think the organizational issues will put new stresses on Russia’s “centralized model of command and control,” which is a holdover from the days of the Soviet Union, and will lead officers on the ground to defer battlefield decisions to distant commanders.

“It will be difficult for Russia to regain initiative under these conditions,” the ministry concluded.

Reports continue to surface that Putin is blaming his military’s failures in Ukraine on top officials including army Gen. Valery Gerasimov, who is the long-serving Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

The UK assessed this week that he has “likely” held onto that position though there have been claims from Ukrainian defense officials that he had been replaced.

Clay Clark: Luciferians pushing 666 in their quest to enslave humanity – Brighteon.TV Friday, May 20, 2022 by: Ramon Tomey

(Natural News) Reawaken America Tour founder and Brighteon.TV host Clay Clark revealed that the Luciferian globalists and their allies are pushing the 666 iconography in their quest to enslave humanity.

Clark made this revelation during the May 18 episode of his program “Thrive Time Show,” where he aired his recent interview on “The Alex Jones Show” with the InfoWars founder. He pointed to two Congressional bills that contain the so-called “devil’s number” – House Resolution (HR) 6666 and HR 666. Both proposals were introduced by Democratic lawmakers.

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) introduced HR 6666, or the COVID-19 Testing, Reaching And Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act, back in 2020. The act permits the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by extension, to “award grants to eligible entities to conduct [COVID-19] diagnostic testing, trace and monitor the contacts of infected individuals and support the quarantine of such contacts.”

Clark, however, revealed that HR 6666 conceals a much more sinister agenda – that of medical martial law. “This is actual legislation that has actually been authored by the U.S. Congress that would allow the [HHS] secretary to take you to a quarantine camp. That is not a theory; that is an actual document. Now they have codified it, and it’s just sitting there waiting to be passed,” he told Jones.

The “Thrive Time Show” host added that the TRACE Act lined up with the CDC’s idea of “green zones” or isolation facilities for COVID-infected individuals, akin to concentration camps. “The CDC recommends [taking] you away from your home for a limited period of time – at least six months – to keep you from spreading the virus,” said Clark.

“It’s a virus [that’s] two weeks long [at the] maximum, but they want you to stay months in a prison. Remember Australia [when] they said: ‘If you complain about being in a camp, we’ll keep you longer to make you stop complaining?’ It’s all about control. It’s the cover for the re-education camps,” the InfoWars founder said in reply. (Related: Australian government celebrates construction of covid quarantine camp, claims prisoners will be held for “public safety.”)

Clark also pointed to HR 666, otherwise known as the Anti-Racism in Public Health Act of 2021. The bill introduced by Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) sought to “provide for public health research and investment into understanding and eliminating structural racism and police violence.” Clark decried HR 666 as “legislation that would [make it] illegal for you to not agree with critical race theory.”

Luciferians are “diligent devils,” most Christians are “asleep at the wheel”

Jones then asked why the globalist Luciferians and their allies are putting out the 666 iconography and if they were doing it to “rub it in [people’s] noses.”

“Luciferians want to always show what they’re going to do before they do it,” replied Clark. He then cited two other examples of the devil’s number being used, this time from the private sector.

The logo of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), which operates the Large Hadron Collider, uses three sixes as its logo. CERN conducted a satanic ritual, which Jones described as “people running around in black robes doing mock human sacrifices,” during the grand opening of its headquarters in Switzerland.

Aside from CERN, Clark also mentioned that Microsoft and its founder Bill Gates own a patent for “a cryptocurrency system that goes inside the human body.” Incidentally, the patent was issued the serial number WO/2020/060606 – another reference to the devil’s number.

The Reawaken America Tour founder pointed out that the patent fulfilled the book of Revelation, which states: “Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.”

“The Luciferians are diligent devils that want to put us in quarantine camps. [They’re] diligently throwing out the number 666 and making their technology. [Meanwhile] many Christians – not your listeners, but many Christians – have been asleep behind the wheel,” said Clark.

“I’m asking the Christians who are watching right now: I’m calling on you to get involved. It is the Great Reawakening versus the Great Reset.”

Congress to pass anti-price gouging legislation targeting Big Oil while PROTECTING insane price gouging and racketeering of Big Pharma

(Natural News) By a vote of 217-207, the House of Representatives just passed the Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act to supposedly help lower gas prices across the country. But how come Congress refuses to do the same thing with Big Pharma and its overpriced drug racket?

According to reports, the American government is now inserting itself into the energy markets by deciding which gas stations are setting “unconscionably excessive” prices and dealing with them accordingly.

If an energy seller is deemed to be “exploiting the circumstances related to an energy emergency to increase prices unreasonably,” then the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will have the power to take regulatory action.

This “presidential emergency,” as they are calling it, will last 30 days if passed by both branches of Congress. It could theoretically be renewed indefinitely “as the president deems appropriate.”

“The measure would also prioritize FTC enforcement actions against firms with $500 million or more in annual wholesale or retail consumer fuel sales,” reported The Epoch Times.

Only four Democrats voted against the bill along with 203 Republicans. Most Democrats supported it because they say their constituents are experiencing a lot of pain at the pump.

“Our residents are so fed up with corporate greed,” said Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), a supporter of the measure.

Democrats say oil companies are intentionally limiting supply to reap record profits

According to the left, record-breaking energy prices are not a product of shortages but of corporate greed. Oil and gas firms are raking in record profits while Americans suffer. Tlaib pointed to Shell and Chevron as two examples.

Republicans like John Joyce of Pennsylvania, on the other hand, say that government intervention at a time like this will create long lines of cars at the gas station, much like what occurred during the 1970s.

Implementing price controls, he claims, amounts to socialist price fixing. Not only that, but there is plenty of domestic energy that Democrats, for whatever reason, do not want Americans to access.

“Instead of creating price controls that would lead to less production and massive gas shortages, we need to rely on the energy that lies beneath the feet of my constituents in Pennsylvania,” Joyce said on the House floor.

Rep. Kelly Armstrong, a Republican from North Dakota, further revealed that the Biden regime is largely to blame for the energy crisis, including with its cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline project.

In response, Rep. Frank Pallone, a Democrat from New Jersey, said that Republicans are mischaracterizing the scope of the legislation.

“We’re not giving the FTC the authority to set the price,” he said, adding that oil companies “don’t want to increase production” because they are making too much money with artificial scarcity.

“You cannot ask oil and gas companies, particularly onshore companies, to increase production when the infrastructure doesn’t exist to get that product to market,” Armstrong shot back in defense of the Republican position.

In addition to passing the main bill, the House also passed two separate amendments, including one that would mandate an FTC investigation into alleged price gouging, including through cuts to refinery capacity.

The other amendment would create a new FTC unit to monitor fuel markets. (Related: Eco-terrorists in some areas are now smashing gas pumps to protest their alleged impact on climate change.)

The Sierra Club celebrated the bill’s passage on Twitter, saying it will hold Big Oil accountable while protecting communities “from fossil fuel industry greed.”

“The Senate should act swiftly to pass this critical legislation,” the Sierra Club added.

Meanwhile, not a peep can be heard about addressing pharmaceutical industry greed, which has been going on for much longer and at a much greater price to society.
