Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin Jr. gave a preview of his fears during an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” on Friday.

The Biden administration has said that as of May 23, it will no longer enforce Title 42, a rule imposed during the coronavirus pandemic that allowed officials at the border to turn away illegal immigrants on the grounds that they could be bringing the coronavirus into the country.

McLaughlin said Friday that he expects when Title 42 goes away, his community will face an increase of between 75 percent and 100 percent in the number of illegal immigrants with which it must deal.

“We’ve been dealing with this crisis for the last year,” he said, referring to the massive numbers of illegal immigrants who have come into the U.S. since President Joe Biden took office.

McLaughlin said he has no words to picture the next level of America’s illegal immigration crisis.

“What’s coming on the 23rd of May won’t even be describable,” the mayor said. “I mean, you’re talking about thousands of people that are going to hit that border, that are just waiting to cross the border.

“And there’s nobody prepared down here for it. The federal government’s not prepared for it. Thank God Governor Abbott is trying to get prepared for it, but it’s going to be just the wild, wild west and crazy down here,” he said.

On Wednesday, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott announced a series of measures to help his state deal with the flood of migrants, including using “charter buses and flights to transport migrants who have been processed and released from federal custody to Washington, D.C.”

McLaughlin noted that even though Uvalde is not right on the border, it will be drowned in the wave to come, based on what he has seen the federal government do before.

“They’ll get so overwhelmed at the border, they’ll pull all their Border Patrol agents out of the field. They’ll make them processors. They’ll be doing paperwork, and they’ll say, ‘Oh we’re over capacity,’ and they’ll start shipping them to towns like Uvalde,” he said.

The federal government will “dump them” and “then we have to deal with them,” the mayor said.

McLaughlin said the Biden administration has caused the problem and federal officials compound it by denying communities the ability to deal with what the feds have created.

“The federal government ties your hands at every turn,” he said.

Last year, the mayor denounced the Biden administration’s immigration policy as “pretty much a clown show,” according to Fox News.

“It’s just — it is just getting crazier and crazier and crazier and these — these ‘peaceful’ immigrants, illegal immigrants, they keep talking about, are getting more and more aggressive with landowners. They’re doing more destruction of property. They’re tearing things up. Trashing ranch houses, trashing vehicles,” McLaughlin told host Tucker Carlson in September.

”And, you know, you can complain all you want, but this is — this administration turns a blind eye to it. This is such a failed administration and a failed president, it’s terrible,” he said then.

(Natural News) Video footage is circulating to show that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is taking Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccine passport” enforcement tyranny to a whole new level.

In the clip – watch below – Chinese people are seen kneeling before their overlords as passports are scanned. The recording was apparently captured in Jinan City, located in Shandong Province, on April Fool’s Day.

It could be that this was just another staged “shock and awe” incident to normalize the idea of permanent indentured servitude to the plandemic. Or perhaps it really is how the CCP is treating Chinese people during this latest “wave” of the Wuhan Flu.

Over in Shanghai, the city’s latest round of lockdowns has now been extended indefinitely, so it is not out of the question that the regime is escalating the situation by also requiring its subjects to kneel in submission before being scanned for passage through a public right-of-way.

How does tyrannizing people keep them “safe” against a phantom virus?

Another Twitter account posted a similarly disturbing video clip back around Christmastime that showed communist Chinese authorities carrying guns at covid jab passport checkpoints.

The covid guards were reportedly checking people’s QR codes and “green passes” to ensure that all citizens in the area were in compliance with the jab passport requirements.

“My worst nightmare comes true again: Chinese covid guards are carrying guns at every checkpoint to check people’s qr code green passes again,” that account tweeted, along with the following video.

“If you don’t comply, they can shoot you immediately!”

This is what you call theater of war, and it is being waged against the Chinese people – and really all people who live in countries or areas where unhinged governments are essentially committing mass genocide, supposedly to ward of a virus that is similar to a cold or flu.

In order to keep the Chinese people “safe” against covid, armed guards are keeping everyone locked inside their homes without food, arresting violators on the street, and potentially even killing resisters for defying government orders.

“This is the world of the New World Order where freedom is something that is simply not permitted,” suggested Joe Hoft from The Gateway Pundit (TGP).

In the comment section at TGP, many sounded off about how it makes no sense to claim that any of this tyranny is “saving lives,” especially since many lives are ending because they can no longer access food.

“This is Dementia Joe’s plan for Americans as well: KNEEL and show your papers,” one of them wrote about what could come to the United States if Americans fail to stand up and resist.

“That’s right, because it isn’t China’s plan and it isn’t the puppet’s plan, either,” responded another. “It is a globalist kabbalist plan that was implemented in China first because they are a nation of conformist drones. Easier to start there first.”

“Any time they have an uprising coming (which their AI can detect through social media) as in the planned protests in Wuhan in late 2019 against air pollution and more incinerators being built, they can just spray some flu and use that as the excuse to lock down. This is ALL about control and always has been.”

The same commenter added that this should serve as a warning to Americans to get up off their butts and do something before it is too late.

(Natural News) There is no longer any doubt, based on the science, that getting “vaccinated” for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) is a great way to destroy your immune system.

It is now clearer than ever that the more jabs a person takes, the greater his or her risk of suffering immune failure. And over time, each additional injection weakens the immune system that much more, increasing the odds that chronic illness or death becomes the result.

On his Substack, Steve Kirsch revealed data from the New Zealand Ministry of Health showing that the triple vaccinated are much more vulnerable to becoming infected with or dying from covid than the unvaccinated.

Hospitalizations, serious outcomes and death are all much more prominent in the “fully vaccinated,” the data shows, than they are in people who left their natural immune systems alone.

The same kind of data can be found in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, showing that with each subsequent injection, immune failure becomes that much more likely. (Related: Covid injections have also been shown to cause AIDS.)

“So the vaccine is working exactly the OPPOSITE of what it is supposed to do,” Kirsch warns. “It is helping you to get the virus!!! In any rational world, we would stop the vaccines immediately. But, hey, this isn’t a rational world.”

There is no helping those who do not want to be helped

No matter how unsafe the injections prove to be, governments everywhere will continue to push them, and a contingent of obedient society will believe whatever they are told, even if it defies all logic.

“There is no stopping condition in our world,” Kirsch says.

“No matter how unsafe the vax is, it will be mandated because people BELIEVE it is the only way to stop COVID. And nothing is going to change this belief due to cognitive dissonance effects.”

The U.K. government’s covid vaccine surveillance report currently shows that over time, the fully injected are getting sicker and sicker. Infections, hospitalizations and deaths are soaring among the jabbed, in other words.

And truth be told, there is no other way to explain this than to assume that the “vaccines” are making people more susceptible to infection over time, likely through immune system destruction.

“This is why we ignore all the scientific evidence because it must be wrong! It goes against what we’ve been told!” Kirsch further writes.

“So when the science says ‘don’t get the vax and masks don’t work,’ it doesn’t matter, because it goes against what we were told. Science is no match for our belief systems.”

To accept what true science actually says is to go against the prevailing narrative, which for many people is never going to happen. Even when they can see with their own eyes that something is wrong, they will continue to believe the “authorities.”

Even the “old” science that supports the notion that vaccines might be harming immunity has been tossed out the window in favor of the new Tony Fauci “science,” which shifts with the wind to always back the agenda.

“The new science is whatever Dr. I Am Science says now,” wrote one of Kirsch’s newsletter readers.

“A few decades ago, anyone claiming to be Science would have been locked in an asylum. Now we have him control a pandemic he and his minions created. Seems like we have entered a new Dark Ages in this century.”

Another person pointed out that the progressive immune damage theory is seen even in the health outcome variance between the double- and triple-injected. Those who get a “booster” end up faring much worse, on average, than those who stop at just one or two shots.

Herd Immunity in Africa? 65% Previously Infected by SARS-CoV-2 Yet WHO Intensifies Calls for Vaccination

A meta-analysis, a synthesis of 151 studies on seroprevalence in Africa between January 2020 and December 2021 and now uploaded to a preprint server while under peer review suggests up to 65% of Africans, continent-wide, have already been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind COVID-19. If the math is correct there were 97 times more infections in Africa than reported confirmed cases.  Despite acknowledged widespread natural immunity in Africa WHO pushes aggressively to vaccinate more of the population, to date only about 16% of the population on the continent is vaccinated against COVID-19.

Why Seroprevalence Studies?

Seroprevalence studies provide data on asymptomatic or under-reported infections that may have been missed by routine diagnostic testing, which in Africa has focused on travelers and people who came to hospitals with COVID-19 symptoms. While this new analysis provides insight into the evolution of the pandemic, routine testing remains a critical component of the COVID-19 pandemic in all countries.

Africa during the Pandemic

The WHO writes that by 6 April 2022, there were 11.5 million confirmed cases and more than 252 000 deaths reported on the continent. It is likely that numbers of actual exposure to the virus have increased even more since September 2021.”

WHO argues that the people of Africa have had milder COVID-19 cases compared with people in other parts of the world because there is a comparatively smaller proportion of people with risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic diseases that are associated with more severe cases and deaths?  Africa’s youthful population is also a protective factor. 

Other factors have been proposed, such as the frequent use of ivermectin in many of the countries in the continent as part of antiparasitic regimen.  This claim hasn’t been proven.

Delivering the Findings

During a press conference recently, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, WHO Regional Director for Africa spoke along with the study’s Coordinating Lad Author, Professor Guéladio Cissé, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, University of Basel, Switzerland, and Dr. Irene Owusu Donkor, Postdoctoral fellow, African Postdoctoral Training Initiative and Research fellow, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, Ghana. The study authors were part of the UNITY Studies Collaborator Group.

The Findings

This study, still not peer-reviewed hence shouldn’t be used for any conclusions as of yet reveals that exposure to SARS-CoV-2 skyrocketed from 3% (1.0-9.2% range) in June of 2020 to 65% (56.3-73% range) by September of 2021, or 800 million infections compared with 8.2 million cases reported at that time. The study showed that exposure to the virus rose sharply following the emergence of the Beta and the Delta variants.  

The analysis revealed that the true number of infections could be as much as 97 times higher than the number of confirmed reported cases. This compares to the global average where true number of infections is 16 times higher than the number of confirmed reported cases.

As reported in the WHO press release, seroprevalence varied widely within and across countries in Africa – higher in more dense urban areas than in less populated rural areas – and between age groups, with children aged 0-9 years having fewer infections compared with adults. Exposure to the virus also varied between countries and Africa’s sub-regions: seroprevalence appears to be highest in Eastern, Western, and Central African regions. 

Broad-based Pop Health Implications—Herd Immunity?

The new analysis suggests that more than two-thirds of all Africans have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus. Globally seroprevalence studies have found a significant under-counting of cases occurring across the globe with 45.2% of the world’s population estimated to have been infected with the virus by September 2021. It is, however, difficult to compare figures for Africa with those of other regions, as many of the studies conducted cover different time periods.

The continent differentiates itself from other regions by its a high number of asymptomatic cases, with 67% of cases having no symptoms.

“This analysis shows that current reported COVID-19 confirmed cases are only a fraction of the actual number of infections on the continent,” said Dr. Moeti, who continued “This under-counting is occurring worldwide and it’s no surprise that the numbers are particularly large in Africa where there are so many cases with no symptoms.”

Push for Vaccination

While this study reveals a substantial percentage of the population has already been infected with SARS-CoV-2 and thus has some levels of natural immunity and the WHO acknowledges that generally, the African population (young, fewer comorbidities, etc.) are less likely to experience severe disease nonetheless none of those factors were considered as part of a publicly shared COVID-19 risk-benefit analysis.

In fact, declaring that the virus is actually pervasive, circulating around the population, often in the form of new highly transmissible variants the WHO argues vaccines are more important than ever for the African population declaring “The seroprevalence analysis shows just how much the virus continues to circulate, particularly with new highly transmissible variants. The risks of more lethal variants emerging which overwhelm immunity gained from past infections cannot be brushed aside. Vaccination remains a key weapon in the fight against COVID-19.”

They base this rationale on “multiple studies” revealing that vaccination is beneficial for individuals who have already been infected. To date, about 209 million people representing 16% of the population have been vaccinated.   WHO continues to support countries’ ramp-up vaccination?

Moderna Recalls Vaccine in Europe Due to Contamination

Making headlines frequently of late, Moderna suddenly reversed its request for an emergency fourth shot. Now the company is in the news again, but this time because of a European recall of its COVID-19 vaccine.

Possible Safety Issues

Moderna issued a call back of over 750,000 doses of its vaccine mRNA-1273 (Spikevax) made by its contract manufacturer Rovi after contamination was found in one vial of the serum. Rovi is based in Spain. The Cambridge, Massachusetts -based mRNA-focused biotech company declared no safety issues have been identified, but the specific lot containing the contamination were distributed in January to Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden.

Company Releases Statement

In a press release to investors, Moderna emphasized it issued the recall over an “abundance of caution,” and that “Moderna and Rovi remain committed to working transparently and expeditiously with regulators to address any potential concerns.” According to the release, over 900 million doses of the Moderna vaccine have been distributed worldwide, and the company doesn’t believe the contaminated vial poses a risk to “other vials in the lot and does not believe this affects the significant benefit/risk of the vaccine.” The company is communicating with health authorities in the investigation of the contamination. According to Moderna, no safety issues have been identified.

Previous Issues

In 2021, both Denmark and Sweden paused their use of the Moderna vaccine in children after reports of side effects like myocarditis. Later, Finland and Norway joined the pause, while Iceland suspended the use of the vaccine. Japan also had contamination issues with Moderna in 2021 when two men died after receiving shots of the tainted doses. Japanese authorities suspended 1.63 million doses of the vaccine. The contaminated doses in Japan were also traced back the Rovi. Stainless steel contaminants were found in the tainted vials.

Cleveland Clinic Disqualifies Father as Donor For 9-Year-Old Son’s Kidney Transplant Due to Vaccination Status

Posterior Urethral Valves (PUV) are obstructive membranes that develop in the urethra, which functions by draining urine from the bladder. These valves can obstruct or block the outflow of urine, which leads the ureters and kidneys to become progressively dilated, resulting in damage. PUV cannot be prevented. It develops in the early stages of fetal development and abnormally affects male infants. Reports of the incidence of PUV vary as widely as 1 in 2,000 to as much as 1 in 25,000 according to Nature.com.  

Background

PUV is the most common cause of congenital bladder outlet obstruction and is responsible for 17% of pediatric end-stage kidney disease. PUV can be diagnosed in an ultrasound, x-ray, blood sample, or a cystoscopy. Long-term complications can be prevented or minimized in some patients. Yet many patients suffer ongoing bladder dysfunction and progressive kidney injury, resulting in between 22% to 50% proceeding to kidney failure by early adulthood. 

Dane and Jenn Donaldson have been preparing for the possibility of a kidney transplant for their youngest son Tanner since their pregnancy. It was difficult enough for the Donaldsons to get the news that their unborn child had a major, life-threatening complication, (Posterior Urethral Valve Syndrome) but it was another level of devastation for the expecting couple to discover “there was no medical fix,” said Dane.

Meet the Donaldsons

The parents spoke to TrialSite News to explain the circumstances surrounding their legal battle with Tanner’s hospital, the Cleveland Clinic, (one of the top hospitals in the country). The hospital is no longer accepting Dane as a kidney donor for his son because Dane has not been vaccinated. According to their recent COVID-19 vaccination policy, all patients of elective surgeries must be vaccinated, and Dane falls under that technicality. 

Despite the Donaldsons’ attempts to reason with the hospital: utilizing their religious exemption, proving Dane already acquired natural immunity, and releasing the hospital of any liability, the Cleveland Clinic will not budge. Here are the details of their case.

Tanner’s Story

For the past nine years, the Donaldsons have dedicated their lives to creating the best possible outcome for Tanner’s health. Jenn Donaldson quit her job to care for Tanner so she can meet the frequency of his medical needs.

 “I make my day around what I need to take care of him.” Thankfully, she has been able to work a bit as a CrossFit coach which is ideal for a caretaking parent who’s short on time, dedicated to her health, and in need of a mental respite. 

Jenn must make daily trips to his school because Tanner needs a catheter to help manually drain his urine every three hours without exception–even during the night. This tedious-yet-important process reduces the chance of his urine flowing back into his body and damaging his organs and must be conducted in a regimented and sterile fashion by his parents. If not, they run the risk of causing Tanner a kidney infection, (which is common for kids with PUV to contract more than a few times a year). 

Due to their dedication, the Donaldsons have only had one incidence of kidney infection in Tanner’s lifetime. Dane said that up until the change in policy at Cleveland Clinic, the Donaldsons were praised for their successful efforts in meeting Tanner’s needs: the doctor visits, donor screening steps, medications, proper hygiene, and of course, nutrition.

Like any child his age, Tanner is a fan of treats and snacks that aren’t optimal for his health. The Donaldsons help guides their sons to make wise choices about their nutrition which Jenn Donaldson says, “can influence (kidney) function big time.” 

Talking to Tanner about the severity of his health “is getting tougher and tougher each day,” said Jenn Donaldson. Thankfully, since his birth, Tanner has done much better than his doctors had expected. Furthermore, Tanner has no other comorbidities. This makes Tanner a prime candidate on the donor list. 

Tanner’s Kidney Options

Tanner does not have many options on the table. His body is currently surviving on one kidney, with between 18% – 22% functionality. It is medically optimal for Tanner to live on his native kidney as long as possible. While the threat of needing a transplant loom, at the moment, it is best for them to buy time with Tanner’s own kidney through their meticulous efforts at preserving Tanner’s most optimal health. 

However, if Tanner’s kidney were to drop below 15% function, then a kidney donation transplant surgery would need to be immediate. The Donaldsons have turned down some opportunities (before COVID-19) to utilize a deceased donor’s kidney because a living donor’s kidney will provide 18-20 years of functionality. In contrast, a deceased person’s kidney will fail Tanner after only a decade.

When Tanner was about 5 years old, the Donaldsons got the news that both parents had 4 out of 5 markers as quality candidates. There were many factors that drove their decision to use Dane as the donor. 

Gravely, if the children lost a parent due to surgical complications, the Donaldsons agreed that the children needed their mom most to survive. The Donaldsons also must consider their teenaged son, Ryder, who is high-functioning autistic.

Dane immediately took responsibility to improve the surgical outcomes for his family by drastically improving his eating and exercise habits, ultimately losing 60-70 lbs. 

The Cleveland Clinic’s Contradictory Mandates

The Donaldsons were astonished to learn that there would not be any patient-specific consideration regarding the mandate put in place by the Cleveland Clinic in the last quarter of 2021. The Donaldsons requested a meeting with the decision-makers, but instead got the team of doctors who were involved: the nephrologist, the urologist, the infectious disease doctor, and the surgeon who would operate on Dane. “That’s who we got, we got the doctors that make no decisions,” said Jenn.

What was the Cleveland Clinic’s main objection to Dane not being vaccinated? Simply that he would run the risk of contracting COVID-19. They dismissed Dane’s willingness to absolve the hospital of liability. Dane also brought up the Cleveland Clinic’s own pre-print study that concluded: 

“Individuals who have had SARS-CoV-2 infection are unlikely to benefit from COVID-19 vaccination, and vaccines can be safely prioritized to those who have not been infected before.”

TrialSite covered one of the first studies in America, led by Cleveland Clinic, that showcased the robust protection of pre-existing SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Jenn Donaldson questioned the doctors about the risks of adverse reactions. Their answer was that if Dane were to develop any adverse reactions because of COVID-19 vaccines, such as myocarditis or Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), that Dane would no longer be eligible. 

Beyond the ways in which an adverse reaction could eliminate him as a donor for Tanner, he’s also the sole breadwinner of the family. If he were to become disabled because of vaccination, would the Cleveland Clinic compensate the Donaldsons? After all, the Donaldsons would run the risk of financial ruin and a lifetime of medical care for yet another member of their family. The answer is no.   TrialSite reminds there is powerful liability shield in place protecting the vaccine makers, hospitals, and others from COVID-19 liability thanks to the PREP Act.

But even if he could count on financial compensation, Dane said “I’m not going to take $5 million for my family, but not be able to function anymore. What good is that for everybody?’

When Dane repeatedly asked what the medical benefit would be for him to be vaccinated, the Cleveland Clinic doctors could only say it could shorten his time-fighting COVID-19 for a day or so, said the Donaldsons. 

The Donaldsons also point out that the Cleveland Clinic fired unvaccinated nurses from their staff, but then had to rehire them as contract workers. This is a medically and epidemiologically illogical loophole that many health care facilities around the nation have used when staff shortages became desperate. 

Furthermore, the Donaldsons asked whether a dead donor is required to be vaccinated to give a kidney to Tanner. No, the Cleveland Clinic would still do the transplant.

“This is where the story comes full circle, said Dane. “What’s better?  A living donor or deceased donor? Now they’re taking a deceased donor unvaccinated, right? So, they’re willing to do it, only if I’m dead.”

The Donaldsons brought up the fact that there are no long-term studies that would confirm the spike proteins in the vaccine are safe for Tanner or Dane, or any transplant recipient in the long term. Their exemptions based on their religious beliefs are also being ignored. 

“They did not have that meeting with us to have dialogue. They had that meeting with us to tell us the benefits of the three shots that they had available. That was it. At least from my opinion,” said Dane. 

Now the Donaldsons have filed an official lawsuit against the hospital. Elizabeth A. Brehm Esq, with the Law Firm of Aaron Siri Esq., reiterated Donaldson’s points in a letter to their Bioethics Director, and included a follow-up, but the Cleveland Clinic has neither responded to or even acknowledged the receipt of the letters. Hard copies were also delivered to the medical doctors on the case.

“I’m still blown away. Regardless of the lawsuit, they have not even acknowledged us from that time,” said Dane Donaldson.

What is Plan B?

The Donaldsons are hoping for a legal overturn utilizing Ohio legislature that aims to end vaccine discrimination. The Donaldsons live in Ohio, where Jennifer Gross, district 52, is a primary sponsor (along with 15 other representatives,) of House Bill 248, “Enact Vaccine Choice”.

A radical Arkansas judge in the mold of Jeremiah Wright struck down four new common-sense election integrity laws approved by the Republican-controlled state legislature, declaring the statutes unconstitutional last month. The state is appealing the ruling.

Pulaski County Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen is, like Wright, also a critical race theory-friendly, black nationalist, African dashiki-wearing preacher. He is also a diversity consultant, profiting from race-mongering and dividing people. He founded his firm Griffen Strategic Consulting PLLC, in Little Rock in 2008.

Griffen is controversial in his home state, known for his strident left-wing activism. He delights in sticking his thumb in the eyes of Republican state lawmakers -- they have tried to impeach and remove him as a judge. Griffen was barred from hearing cases on a death penalty track after he went to a protest outside the governor’s mansion in 2017 strapped down to a gurney, as if he were a condemned man about to be executed by lethal injection. The protest took place the same day as Griffen issued an order blocking the state’s execution schedule.

Griffen bitterly denounced then-President-elect Donald Trump days after his election in November 2016, spewing paranoid leftist conspiracy theories and racist, white-hating nonsense.

“White nationalism and white male supremacy never left this country,” Griffen said, according to Arkansas Money and Politics. It is a “fallacy … that somehow the nation had moved on beyond the hatefulness, the fearfulness, the misogyny.”

At his personal blog, “Justice is a verb!” Griffen lamented the election of Trump, which he wrote “means the end of the brief dawn of progress in civil liberty witnessed during the Obama presidency the same way the election of Rutherford B. Hayes in 1876 marked the end of Reconstruction.”

“Remember what happened when Rutherford Hayes was elected President by the House of Representatives in 1876,” Griffen wrote November 9, 2016.

“Reconstruction ended. Hayes promised to withdraw federal troops from the South despite knowing those troops protected former slaves from violence and reprisals from white southerners. After the federal troops were withdrawn from the former Confederate states, the Ku Klux Klan was born. Jim Crow segregation began twenty years later (1896) when the Supreme Court decided that racial segregation on a Louisiana railroad car was acceptable in the Plessy v. Ferguson ruling that ushered in the term ‘separate but equal.’” 

He added that Trump was the new Hitler, or something.

“We should not only remember what happened in the United States after the election of 1876 if we want to know what could happen in coming years during the presidency of Mr. Trump. Patriots and prophets should recall what happened in Germany, later in Europe, and ultimately to the world after Adolf Hitler seized power in Germany in 1933 on the promise that he would make Germany great again.”

Returning to the court case, in League of Women Voters of Arkansas v. Thurston, court file 60CV-21-3138, Griffen permanently enjoined the election laws --Acts 249, 728, 736, and 973— on March 18 after a four-day trial. The league, Arkansas United, and five voters, had claimed the statutes disproportionately harmed voters of color.

Act 249 regulated the counting of provisional ballots. Act 728, enacted after complaints about groups providing food and water to voters, prohibited individuals from standing within 100 feet of a polling station. Act 736, aimed at ballot-harvesting, declared the possession by an individual of more than four absentee ballots “creates a rebuttable presumption of intent to defraud.” Act 973 cut the timeframe for voters to request absentee ballots.

After the laws were passed in 2021, the ACLU predictably denounced them.

“What we’re seeing in Arkansas is the most dangerous assault on the right to vote since the Jim Crow era,” hyperbolized Holly Dickson, executive director of the ACLU of Arkansas.

“Legislators are moving at breakneck speed to erect new barriers to the ballot that will disproportionately impact voters of color, as well as elderly and low-income Arkansans. These bills don’t just make it harder to vote, they also make it easier for partisan politicians to interfere with local election administrators – something that could have disastrous consequences for democracy. These bills will make it harder for all voters – of all political stripes – to make their voices heard.”

In court, Griffen reportedly said from the bench that the defendants, among them Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston, a Republican, had not shown there was a need for the laws and that the state’s worries about election integrity were “based entirely on conjecture and speculation,” which “cannot be permitted to supply the place of proof.”

Griffen issued a formal, 86-page order (pdf) on March 24, that at times reads like a platitude-laden, over-the-top essay by a high school student trying a bit too hard to impress a communist history teacher. The injunction (pdf) issued by Griffen indicates that election integrity law-killer Marc Elias’s D.C. law firm, Elias Law Group, represented Arkansas United in the lawsuit.

The election laws Griffen struck down were a step down the road to fascist dictatorship, the judge suggested near the end of the order as he inexplicably pulled an irrelevant Martin Luther King Jr. quotation out of thin air:

“We do not need to look far to detect the dangers of softmindedness. Dictators, capitalizing on softmindedness, have led men to acts of barbarity and terror that are unthinkable in civilized society. Adolf Hitler realized that softmindedness was so prevalent among his followers that he said, ‘I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few.’ In Mein Kampf he asserted: ‘By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell – and hell, heaven…The greater the lie, the more readily will it be believed.’”

“King did not need to be a lawyer, judge, legislator, or governor,” Griffen wrote, “to recognize that softminded embrace of what he termed ‘legions of half-truths, prejudices, and false facts’ is a recipe for fascism.”

You get the picture.

This kind of lunacy, had it come from a university professor, would not be surprising nowadays, but coming from a judge sworn to uphold the Constitution and mete out justice impartially, it is disturbing.

Hallucinating fascism is a dangerous habit for someone who has power.

Mercifully, this lawless, belligerent leftist judge announced his retirement February 1, effective when his term of office expires at year’s end. “I look forward in retirement to devoting more time and energy [to] writing, lecturing, and discoursing about social justice and public theology,” the judge said.

But how many more Wendell Griffens are out there waging war against America from the bench?
