ADELANTO, Calif., (Feb. 20, 2022) American truckers are launching The People’s Convoy, a peaceful and unified transcontinental movement, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from the Adelanto Stadium in Southern California. Starting at 10:00 a.m., hundreds of truckers will hear words of encouragement and blessings from a group of speakers including FLCCC President Dr. Pierre Kory and Godspeak Church Pastor Rob McCoy. The truckers and blue-collar workers of the United States will be joined by freedom-loving supporters from all walks of life – frontline doctors, lawyers, first- responders, former military servicemen and women, students, retirees, mothers, fathers and children – on this peaceful and law-abiding transcontinental journey toward the east coast. The truckers encourage one and all to come out to the stadium in the heart of Adelanto, California to wish them well, see them off and join in the journey.

This convoy is about freedom and unity: the truckers are riding unified across party and state lines and with people of all colors and creeds – Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Mormons, Agnostics, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, Republican, Democrats. All individuals are welcome to participate by either attending the launch gathering – at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 23, at Adelanto Stadium – or by getting in their own vehicles and following the big rigs from Adelanto toward the east coast!

The message of The People’s Convoy is simple. The last 23 months of the COVID-19 pandemic have been a rough road for all Americans to travel: spiritually, emotionally, physically, and – not least – financially. With the advent of the vaccine and workable therapeutic agents, along with the hard work of so many sectors that contributed to declining COVID-19 cases and severity of illness, it is now time to re-open the country. The average American worker needs to be able to end-run the economic hardships of the last two years, and get back to the business of making bread – so they can pay their rents and mortgages and help jumpstart this economy. To that end, it’s time for elected officials to work with the blue collar and white-collar workers of America and restore accountability and liberty – by lifting all mandates and ending the state of emergency – as COVID is well-in-hand now, and Americans need to get back to work in a free and unrestricted manner.

New FDA Chief Says He Will Prioritize Fighting ‘Misinformation’ By Jack Phillips February 18, 2022

“The new Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chief said he will prioritize fighting so-called “misinformation,” although he did not specify anything in particular.

A purely reactive mode is not appropriate, particularly in this new era of social media,” incoming FDA Commissioner Robert Califf, who was just recently a senior adviser at Google Health and Verily, told FDA staff in a letter that was made public this week.

Califf did not elaborate on what he considers misinformation. Also unclear is how the FDA will attempt to counter it online.

Critics of COVID-19 rules have said that the term “misinformation,” often deployed in mainstream media outlets and by public officials, is not clearly defined, and its meaning is often changed to serve their political goals.

Free speech is free speech. Scientific discussion, the analysis of papers in a public forum is part of the process of how good science is conducted.

It appears that Dr. Califf may be another person in the Biden White House determined to oversee the dismantling of the US constitution, as well as the dismantling of the scientific endeavor.

Who needs free speech when the FDA is so free of political bias and regulatory capture?

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to extraordinary restraints on liberty, from international travel bans to state and local orders that businesses shut down, individuals avoid large assemblies and even stay home, and infected patients remain in quarantine. Depending on the epidemic’s progress, even more-draconian measures may be needed, such as restrictions on interstate and intrastate travel. It’s possible that “social distancing” will last for months rather than weeks.

All this goes against the grain in America, whose people treasure freedom and constitutional rights. But the government has ample constitutional and legal authority to impose such emergency steps.

Some state officials, such as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, have urged the White House to take charge. But this isn’t a task for Washington alone. While the federal government has limited and enumerated constitutional authority, states possess a plenary “police power” and have primary responsibility for protecting public health.

States may also take more drastic measures, such as requiring citizens to be tested or vaccinated, even against their will. In Jacobson v. Massachusetts (1905), the Supreme Court considered a challenge to a state law requiring everyone to be vaccinated against smallpox. Henning Jacobson refused vaccination and was convicted. The court upheld the law and Jacobson’s conviction.

“The Constitution,” Justice John Marshall Harlan wrote for a 7-2 majority, “does not import an absolute right in each person to be, at all times and in all circumstances, wholly freed from restraint.” Instead, “a community has the right to protect itself against an epidemic.” Its members “may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand.”

States also have the power, beyond criminal law enforcement, to make quarantine and isolation effective. If presented with widespread noncompliance, governors may call National Guard units to put their orders into force, to safeguard state property and infrastructure, and to maintain the peace. In some states, individuals who violate emergency orders can be detained without charge and held in isolation.

Federal leadership is crucial. Washington has wider access to data about the virus, its migration and trends. It is prudent for states to follow federal guidance on matters like quarantine and travel restrictions. But because Washington lacks states’ police power, compulsion is not always an option. The Constitution forbids federal officials from coercing the states or commandeering state resources or civilian personnel. While Washington may withhold some federal funds from states that refuse to follow federal law, it may do so only in ways that are tailored to advance the federal interests at stake and don’t amount to a “gun to the head,” as Chief Justice John Roberts put it in the 2012 ObamaCare case.

The federal government has the authority to order regional or nationwide containment and quarantine measures. The Public Health Service Act enables the surgeon general, with the approval of the secretary of health and human services, “to make and enforce such regulations as . . . are necessary to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of communicable diseases.” President Trump listed the Covid-19 virus for this purpose in January. The act authorizes the federal government to apprehend, detain and conditionally release individuals to prevent the spread of infection, and to detain anyone who enters from a foreign country or who would spread the disease across state borders.

The act can be read to allow for the general quarantine of all people from a particular state or states, including those who are asymptomatic or even have tested negative. But an attempt to do so would certainly result in litigation. Congress should promptly enact a statute that would affirm federal authority to impose a general quarantine if necessary.

To enforce such measures, the president can deploy civilian and military resources. He could federalize the National Guard over the governor’s objection. The Constitution allows Congress to authorize the use of the militia as well as regular armed forces for a variety of purposes, including suppression of insurrections, defense against invasions, and execution of laws.

Congress has placed significant constraints on the domestic use of the U.S. military. The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 generally prohibits the use of U.S. armed forces for “performing domestic law enforcement activities” and features criminal penalties for noncompliance. But lawmakers have enacted important exceptions that allow the use, in certain specified circumstances, of the military to enforce federal laws. One is the Insurrection Act, originally dating to 1807, which allows the president to use the military when dealing with domestic rebellions. Widespread noncompliance with federal quarantines and travel bans promulgated under the Public Health Service Act may qualify as an insurrection.

Containing the Covid-19 epidemic will require citizens, states, private companies and the federal government to work together. One may hope the steps that have been taken so far will suffice. But emphasizing the sound constitutional and legal basis of these measures is important in reassuring the public that government can do what is necessary to secure the general welfare.

Biden Extends US National Emergency Over COVID-19 Epoch Times, Feb 20, 2022.

More than 900,000 people in this Nation have perished from the disease, and it is essential to continue to combat and respond to COVID-19 with the full capacity and capability of the Federal Government,” adding that his office has “determined that it is necessary to continue the national emergency declared” almost two years ago.

What powers does the National Emergency Powers give to the President?

The Congressional Research Services report states that federal law provides a variety of powers for the President to use in response to crisis, exigency, or emergency circumstances threatening the nation.

The report summarize his powers as follows:

These delegations or grants of power authorize the President to meet the problems of governing effectively in times of crisis. Under the powers delegated by such statutes, the President may seize property, organize and control the means of production, seize commodities, assign military forces abroad, institute martial law, seize and control all transportation and communication, regulate the operation of private enterprise, restrict travel, and control the lives of United States citizens in a variety of ways. Congress may modify, rescind, or render dormant such delegated emergency authority.

We all know there is no emergency. We have early treatment for Covid-19. Omicron is much milder. Almost all of us have had Covid-19 or have been vaccinated. Most of us will have symptoms of a cold if we get infected with Omicron.

The truckers have won, for the govn, Trudeau never negotiated with them and had to resort to brute force to move them and get them out…no negotiation, just brute force, so in effect, the government has lost fully; you have to look at the big picture here…

It is hard what the police are doing; clearly it is illegal; they should stand back; they need to think about all the unvaccinated truckers who took a stand and are at risk of losing everything…their livelihoods….the police must take a stand and band together and say this is wrong…I do think this…and if they lost their jobs, well, we deal with that after as lots have lost their jobs…

The ones doing the arresting, I am very troubled by and outraged by. Trampling with horses etc. This is devastating. I am shocked by this…they are supposed to uphold and enforce the law, not illegal acts dictated by a wrongful deranged government. I am hoping, praying they see the light fast, immediate…

I love the blue, I support police, I start there, and I am fully disclosing. But I know when they are wrong and here they are. They must be willing to band together now and say ‘NO’ to the Trudeau govn.

Today was one of the darkest days in Canadian history; I am being silenced now by Trudeau. I am a threat with my words and understanding of the science and all of COVID failures, from lockdowns to vaccines. As a scientist, I am outraged and angered by what the govn has done today in Ottawa for they have no science on their side and the reality is that the fight is over a policy that the truckers have the science on their side, and the govn does not, but the govn will not even move to negotiate a reasonable peaceful solution; why?

Corporal Danny Bulford whom I came to know personally, and who was a sniper who protected Trudeau (he refused the vaccine and suffered the ramifications), was arrested this morning after a briefing we were having; I was informed if I entered any further the restricted red zone around parliament, I would be arrested. I was told by informed persons to NOT enter the zone from today, LEAVE; I was told by those enforcing that they know me, have followed me and McCullough and Malone etc. and support our thinking and are in a difficult position in their jobs; that they were doing their jobs; that when I talk on the stage they are moved by the data and science and message and they nor family have heard it this way before and thanked me, thanked me deeply, that they love and support the truckers and know that the vaccine does not work and is even harmful and fear for their own safety now as they have read lots now about the harms after taking the vaccine, forced to, mandated to, but then said to me candidly, “Dr. Alexander, if you move one more inch into the zone, you will be arrested”;

I realized immediately it was to silence me and Roger, that I was being silenced by threat of arrest, immediate; and that I should stop, that is what the government was trying to do, that they lost the narrative and I had to be silenced as one skeptic and contrarian and I became a problem with the message I was delivering on the stage outside parliament; I was shocked but do not hate the police and persons at the check points and perimeters, I love them same still, truly, beautiful people, I understood and moved back; I moved out of the zone and did not enter; I followed what I was told especially from connected persons who knew what was happening behind the scenes; I was informed across the day that my message and writing and interviews have hurt the govn in that it is getting through to the population, mines, McCullough, Risch, Trozzi, Hodkinson, Malone, Urso etc. that the message is having an effect and many MPs are listening and moving positions, but that I was in danger now if I moved near parliament, not even to the hotel I was staying at. I was barred from movement.

I cannot say more at this time, I will as I can; I want this to resolve and want a win for the govn and truckers; both, peace; the govn is wrong, devastatingly wrong here for what it has done, it has violated people in terrible ways and I hurt for the police placed in an untenable position as they must return to the very community of the people they are going after. Truckers whose protests have been peaceful. I know, I have been here. Trudeau has done terrible things here, he should be ashamed and history will not judge him kindly.

These vaccines have placed our police and military in a very harmful situation and I will write it knowing the implications as a global scientist heavily worked and knowledgeable in COVID; it is my opinion that many of our police and soldiers will have medium and long term consequences of the vaccines and up to death; many have died from these already and the vaccine makers, nor CDC or NIH have ensured the proper studies to rule out the harms and risks. I fear for our police and military and they were mislead and lied to by the public health officials at Health Canada and PHAC, as well as the provincial public health people under Premier Doug Ford.
